Synopsis: Jessica, who recently got married to Max, is facing difficulties in winning over his daughters, Taylor and young Alice. Despite her efforts, she is unable to connect with them. In an attempt to start fresh with the girls, Jessica has acquired her childhood home from her sick father. This move brings her back to a place she hasn’t visited since she was just five years old. During the process of moving, Alice discovers a hidden teddy bear in the house. She quickly forms a strong bond with the toy, which she insists on calling Chauncey. Alice and Chauncey become inseparable, and Jessica observes how the imaginary friend helps Alice cope with her troubled past involving her biological mother, Samantha. However, the situation takes a dark turn when Alice claims that Chauncey has prepared a sinister scavenger hunt for her to complete. Concerned for her stepdaughter’s safety, Jessica seeks help from Dr. Soto, a professional who can provide guidance. Meanwhile, their neighbor Gloria, who possesses special insight into the situation, tries to offer support to the overwhelmed stepmother.
