Synopsis: Willy Wonka has just arrived in the big city, ready to share his exquisite and magical chocolates with others, with a dream of opening his shop. Finding lodging with Scrubbit and Bleacher, Willy is duped into charges he can’t pay, and forced to work off his debt in a launderette, joining orphan Noodle, Abacus, Piper, Larry, and Lottie in hard labor. Struggling to find a way out of his situation, Willy befriends Noodle, using her wisdom and ability to read to help understand the community, which is ruled by a “chocolate cartel,” with Slugworth, Fickelgruber, and Prodnose doing whatever they can to protect a vat of chocolate hidden under a church. Looking to challenge the companies with his special creations, Willy hopes to establish himself and pay tribute to his late mother, his main chocolate-making inspiration.
