Synopsis: In 895, King Aurvandil War-Raven (Ethan Hawke) returned from his conquests overseas to his realm on the Irish coast, where he reunited with his wife, Queen Gudrún (Nicole Kidman), and his son and heir, Prince Amleth (Alexander Skarsgård). After returning after a fight, Aurvandil chose to delegate his authority to Amleth. The two take part in a spiritual rite presided over by Aurvandil’s acquaintance Heimir The Fool (Willem Dafoe). They drink a hallucinogenic chemical and indulge in animal-like behavior throughout this time. Amleth taps upon his dynasty’s tremendous visions. The king was assaulted and slain the next morning by disguised soldiers dispatched by Aurvandil’s brother Fjölnir The Brotherless (Claes Bang). With Gudrún, he struck the decisive blow and took his realm. Housecarl Finner of Fjölnir attempts to murder Amleth, but the child slices off Finner’s nose and flees by boat, but the bloodbath in his town and his uncle’s screams for his mother has never been seen before. Amleth is finally discovered and reared as a Viking by a tribe of Vikings. Amleth was accosted by a Ceres in the Slavonic temple of the Svetovit goddess after a raid in Russia. Ceres forecasts that Amleth will soon be able to exact revenge on Fjölnir. Amleth hears through Berserker Eirkr Blaze Eye (Tadhg Murphy) that Fjölnir has been exiled to Iceland after being uprooted by the Norwegian Herald. Amleth sneaks slaves onto a ship transporting Fjölnir. On the aircraft, Harry meets Olga of the Birch Forest (Anya Taylor-Joy), a Slavic slave who claims to be a magician. Amleth and the other slaves are escorted to Fjölnir’s farm, where it is revealed that Fjölnir and his wife, Queen Gudrún, have given birth to a son, Gunnar (Elliott Rose).
