Synopsis: The King has been slain, and Balisarius has taken control of Motherworld, building an army, led by Noble, to harvest resources from other planets. Noble and his warship have come to a small farming community to take control of their harvest, using violent means to shock the citizens into submission. Kora is a seemingly simple farmer on the planet, but she refuses to follow Noble’s rule, setting out with Gunnar to find a team of soldiers to start an insurgency against Motherworld, crossing the galaxy to locate people strong enough to face a seemingly impossible challenge. Mercenary Kai supplies a ship large enough to complete the quest, which is soon filled with the likes of empath Tarak, cyborg Nemesis, disgraced General Titus, and warrior Bloodaxe. “A Child of Fire” hopes to start small to help viewers into the story, focusing on Kora, who tends to the fields, keeping to herself while her people live to celebrate traditions, including sexual activity as a way to support agricultural fertility.
