Synopsis: The two main connections in Killers of the Flower Moon, one between a flexible man and the surrogate father who turns into a demon on his shoulder, and one between a husband and his wife, are defined by Ernest and set the film apart from its original material. It was a historical footnote that combined a detective story with in-depth reporting on systemic racism. “I thought the story was going to be a whodunit, right?” when I started writing it.
