Synopsis: In a sense Hit Man is a story of two films but not in the traditional sense. The first part of the movie takes viewers on a fanciful journey through a person’s “honeymoon” period and new professional path. A nervous anxious even horror-lite experience emerges in the second half. For fans of Richard Linklater’s work, the early part of the film will seem a lot like Dazed and Confused or Everybody Wants Some. As an audience member it’s a delightful experience that perfectly encapsulates the transient sensation of exhilaration and new love. For those who are unaware Hit Man is about a college professor who used to work for the city police department before becoming an undercover phoney hitman.
