Synopsis: Marc is married to Oliver, a successful author of YA books who provides a luxurious life for his spouse, who also serves as his illustrator. The pair are happy, in love, and such tenderness is on display during a holiday party in New York City, with Marc sharing the season with his friends, Thomas and Sophie. Off on a trip for a special book signing event, Oliver is killed in a car accident, leaving Marc in a state of shock, unsure how to proceed with his life now that his husband is dead. One year later, Marc is planning to confront his grief by opening a Christmas card Oliver left for him. Instead of seasonal sentiments, Oliver offers word that he’s met another man in Paris, looking to develop the relationship with Marc. Stunned by the revelation and left with a financial mess, Marc travels to France with Thomas and Sophie, trying to make sense of the news, making use of an apartment Oliver was secretly maintaining.
