Synopsis: Ryder takes the lead in “Gone in the Night 2022” and wants you to watch as his bewildered protagonist Kath (Winona Ryder), who goes on a random quest for her space boyfriend Max (John Gallagher Jr.). Max and Kath disappear shortly after vacationing at a secluded Northern California cabin, where they are attacked by a mysterious couple Al (Owen Teague), who is depressed and agro, and Greta (Brianne Tju), who is horny for Max and flamboyant. Max and Greta hit it off after both couples exchange some awkward introductions and even more awkward ice-breakers, so Kath leaves without her boyfriend. But Max never returns, leading Kath to pursue his black, unfaithful partner. She begins by contacting Barlow (Dermot Mulroney), the sole owner of the cabin. Barlow quickly joins Kath to track down Greta, which in turn leads the pair to the next plot point, and so on.
