Rating: 8.3/10
Synopsis: The cold open is incredible, showcasing style and setting up the status quo in a way that immediately piques your curiosity about what’s to come. However, for those unfamiliar with Fallout, it’s important to note that the story takes place in an alternate universe centered around nuclear power. This power source fuels everything from household appliances to vehicles and even robotic helpers like Mr. Handy. As you can imagine, this leads to the downfall of humanity, with some seeking refuge in the world of Vault Tech. Explaining the intricacies of Vault Tech would be a lengthy endeavor, as the show will likely delve deep into it. Suffice it to say, it’s a vast and captivating aspect of the story. Each character in the show has their own goals, and a central mystery will eventually bring them all together. For now, though, each character’s voice is presented in an intriguing manner, allowing us to empathize with their mission and journey. In particular, Lucy’s storyline in the first half of the episode feels like a tutorial, reminiscent of the opening hours of the game.
