Synopsis: The premise of The Expendables seems to be really straightforward: Sylvester Stallone leads a group of action movie stars as they band together to form a strong team of mercenaries to take out the bad guys. Most of the time, they’ve given us enough entertainment to get by, but Expend4bles breaks that trend by being terrible from beginning to end. Even though prior installments didn’t exactly raise the bar for quality, it’s still shocking how terrible Expend4bles is. It’s necessary to turn your brain off in order to enjoy these flicks, but if you did it for too long, your brain would eventually fall asleep. It takes work to provide exciting action sequences and team banter, which is an area this movie finally fails at rather shamefully. Putting together a squad of action icons isn’t enough.
