Synopsis: Krypto the Superdog has a long history in comics since the character was created in 1955 by Otto Binder and Curt Swan. Like Superman, Krypto gets his powers from Earth’s sun and is able to help his Krypto friend fight crime. Although DC’s League of Super-Pets tries to teach lessons about friendship and vulnerability, the characters and story outside of Krypto feel half-baked. After escaping a dying Krypto with baby Kal-El and vowing to protect the young Kryptonian, Krypto (Dwayne Johnson) lives a brilliant life-fight crime with Superman Clark Kent (John Krasinski). But their friendship faces a stumbling block when Clark chooses to propose to Lois Lane (Olivia Wilde). After Krypto and Superman argue, Superman is attacked and captured by the evil guinea pig Lulu, (Kate McKinnon), who also imbues Krypto with kryptonite, leaving him powerless. When Lulu takes over the rest of the Justice League, Krypto teams up with shelter pets who have gained superpowers from orange kryptonite: the incorporeal dog Ace (Kevin Hart), the shape-shifting pig PB (Vanessa Bayer), and Super-fast turtle Merton (Natasha Lyonne) and the electrokinetic squirrel Chip (Diego Luna). Although Krypto normally struggles to work with anyone other than Superman, he will need to learn to work with a team to save his master.
